West MacDonnell Ranges

Well nothing can really prepare you for the amazing day we had today.  We headed west from Alice Springs and visited Simpsons Gap and Standley Gorge.  Honestly, we have just spent an hour trying to decide what to blip tonight.  Both were spectacular.  I have also added a blip of the ranges as we headed back late this afternoon.  There were many “stop the car moments”.  You wouldn’t want to be driving behind MiniMo today I can tell you:))
The highlight of our day however was when we called into the AliceSprings Squash Centre and I was able to convince the manager to allow us to use their showers.  What a great woman Jenny turned out to be.  We ended Up with a free weekly pass and can go there any time we like, even midnight.  Just have to swipe the card they gave us.  I did tug at the heart strings a bit and told them I had won the Alice Springs Open Squash Championships 43 years ago in 1978!  I’m not sure if it was that bit of trivia or my greyhair that swung her decision our way.  OMG we have met some fabulous people on our trip, we seem to stumble across them every day.
