Conservation

On today’s Walk to the Lighthouse, we were met by about 40 young students, from the local Secondary  School, each of whom had made a wooden “bird box”….
to encourage small birds to use the box as a nest, lay eggs and to rear their young.

The students, with Rangers from the Park, set out in groups, along different paths, and “ hooked” each box into a tree, across the hills of the Sierra Helada Natural Park.

It was good to see such an organised “conservation” project being carried out by the youngsters!
