Smokey 1031 hr

It was still below freezing outside, but Smokey doesn't seem to mind the cold and was pleased just to see a ray of sunshine. I was taking it very easy after a very long and tiring trip up to the Midlands the day before.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - Going To A Go-Go (1965)
R.I.P. Bobby Rogers (d. 3.3.2013)
Bobby Rogers co-wrote this song with singing and writing partner Smokey Robinson when they were both in the Miracles, and noted that this song was inspired by the success of the Go-Go clubs that were springing up throughout the States at the time. The success of this song in 1965 ignited a nationwide fad for go-go music. Bobby Rogers was born on 19 February 1940 in Detroit MI. Smokey Robinson entered the world in the same hospital on the same day, but they did not meet each other until 15 years later. Amongst Bobby and Smokey's other notable compositions was The Temptations' first hit single, The Way You Do The Things You Do. He married Wanda Young of the Marvelettes, my favourite Motown girl singer.
