Statuesque Salsify

This is a different perspective on the Oyster plant or Salsify (Tragopogon porrifolius) which I posted last month. The Oyster Plant.
I photographed these striking plants this morning in my Mother's  garden. They are over a metre tall. By the afternoon all the  flowers have closed tightly.
