Morning explorations
Donna came over with Nora and Hunter this morning. It was so hot again, we tried to stay mostly in the shade. I had a little dress for Nora and a shirt for Hunter, but the biggest draw were the velvet lined boxes and ring box for Nora's ring and pearls I gave her this weekend . She was wearing both items today. She loved the ring box the most and guarded it from Hunty.
Then they examined some tiny mushrooms, had a walk up the path into the woods and picked some pansies. Hunter kept looking at our prize poppy that bloomed only yesterday saying, "Pick it?" He had to be closely watched!
On the way back to the stroller, poor Nora had a fright. She is deathly afraid of snakes. We have a cloth toy snake wrapped around our staircase bannister that she orders removed when she visits. The poor little girl almost stepped on a slithering, harmless garter snake as we walked back to their double stroller. She screamed, burst into tears, but recovered quickly and was lauded for her bravery. Such is life in the country.
I also have to report that Merry is like a kitten again with those hateful three teeth extracted exactly a week ago. She's so playful again, out of pain.
For the Record,
This day came in hot and humid once more. Hopefully, relief is coming tomorrow. My niece's central air in their new house malfunctioned and leaked down through their bedroom ceiling early this morning. It's under warranty, but they are sweltering. It has been repaired 3 times recently! Luckily, we are cool downstairs and while sleeping, so that is a relief.
All hands hoping for cooler weather.
