Holmbury st Mary Church
Mr U&L and I took Cleo to Guildford this morning so she could return to Wales to sort out her accommodation for next term. Anyway it took absolutely ages to get there as half of theA281 was closed for resurfacing sending all the traffic on a 15 mile diversion! Obviously we wanted to avoid this on the way home, so we returned via Gomshall, Abinger hammer. Holmbury st Mary and Ockley'
This beautiful church is set on the shallow upper slopes of the greensand ridge meaning the churchyard was very 'heathy' in character, with large patches of Bilberry (see extra) and Lousewort.
Such a beautiful place
