Nobody's Perfect!

Another disappointing night's haul in the moth trap, mitigated by the fact that one of the captures was an Elephant Hawkmoth. It wasn't a perfect specimen, having lost a corner of one of its wings. I also took a head-on close-up, which surprisingly shows that it has eyelashes! (extras)
I had a shortish walk this afternoon hoping for some butterflies, but apart from a few Whites and a very sorry-looking Small Tortoiseshells, there were none around. I did, however, spot a few interesting insects and was surprised to see a Whitethroat very close to home.
