The Approach

First I missed a shot of a Red-shouldered hawk sitting on a birdhouse! Then I walked out into my back yard just in time to see the back side of a Barred Owl as it silently winged away. I had my camera in hand but wasn't fast enough on the draw to get the shot. Then this sweet little male Ruby-throated hummer showed up at the feeders...finally! Sometimes it's just like that! :)
