La Charente

I think this is one of the loveliest rivers in France! It’s from the same viewpoint as the photo taken on 9th Feb when the river had burst its banks and all the houses were underwater.
I was in Saintes for a bit of browsing round the shops as Mr F was doing his English conversation class in the courtyard of a coffee shop. The AVF building is open, but only certain rooms, and of course his usual room isn’t on the list. 
Nobody can say why not, or whether he can use another room of course, so he met the class (and there are only four of them who have stuck it out through all the lessons on Zoom) at the coffee shop, and I think they preferred it really! I joined them at the end for coffee and a bit of chat, and then we stopped off at the market before coming home.
