Mini Queensday

..unbelievable! And I thought I was going to miss Queensday in Amsterdam. Not only was the London Queensday version totally unexpected, earlier than the dutch Queensday, on the 28th instead of the 30th but I also celebrated it in 4 towns at the same day! (Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam ánd Amsterdam!)

It was so weird, next to the Thames, all these dressed-up in Orange dutch-speaking people all together drinking Heineken, singing along with the dutch music and the oh-so Dutch draaiorgel (hurdy-gurdy/barrel organ), eating Herring, 'Patatje Oorlog', kroketten, poffertjes, free Edam-cheese and stroopwafels.. my own mini queensday!

And ofcourse every dutch person made the same joke: ordering the beers in dutch.. and than laughing at the confused people behind the bar haha.
