Ripening
Chillies are the last crop to come out of the tunnel house this winter. While the plants are no longer thriving the fruit will take a while longer to ripen fully. The most post-box red ones are pickable later today, once they've had their daily dose of sunshine.
Some will be made into "Ass Blaster" chilli sauce.
Some will be dried and stored in airtight jars.
Some will be dried and blitzed into flakes.
Some will be pickled.
I have a jar of pickled chillies from 2012 in the pantry which make my eyes water when I remove the lid. So far I've not dared put one anywhere near my mouth.
