When the Campaign to Protect Rural England commissioned a survey to establish which are the qualities people value most in the English countryside - nearly three-quarters (72%) said that tranquillity topped the list.

Makes me feel sad that we carry on destroying tranquillity in the name of efficiency - BUT also think it's wonderful that such tranquil scenes exist right under our busiest motorway - if only we are blippers and go looking for them...
