Session matters

This evening I took the oath and became the Session Clerk for our church for the next 3 years. So I’ll be busy!, The recent General Assembly set out various challenging issues for congregations to address in the next few years.

With recent relaxations on COVID restrictions the Church of Scotland last Friday allowed Kirk Session and business meetings to be resumed. It was a bit short notice for tonight’s meeting but our Minister, the outgoing Clerk and I were able to meet in the sanctuary to join the rest of the Session on zoom. A symbolic moment. Hopefully our next meeting after the summer can be in person.

I had time when setting up to look at this Communion fall which was commissioned in the early 70s and is now framed and hung on a wall. In itself it is impressive but I particularly liked the reflections of the windows in the North Transept.
