Harbingers of Summer

These poppies in our neighbours' front border have been flowering for a week. I thought  I ought to get out and capture them before they finally lose their petals. Some have even a white fringe showing they're on their way out.  While I was out in my nightie taking photos, a Hermes driver arrived with a small parcel for me. Uh oh. Summer light is so bright. I love the backlight through the translucent petals.

We drove to Loughborough early afternoon. We needed to find a small birthday present and card for William whose birthday is on Friday. Len took Basil to Pets at Home to find kibble while I found something at The Range for Will.

To M&S in Loughborough for garlic mayo and gluten free ginger snaps. We finished the trip by adjourning to Muffin Break for a cup of tea.
