Judging day
I was at my WFH desk this morning when D spotted a man with a clipboard staring into our garden. We both knew exactly what was going on; the annual judging of front gardens by our local residents' association. We have no idea what the judging criteria are, and the exact date in June is always a secret, but we've never had so much as a mention.
To be fair, the only award I've ever hoped for was for 'most improved garden' but that doesn't seem to be a category. Our grass seemed to be a point of interest. Not sure if he realised we've let the middle of the lawn grow long on purpose... we shall see. Maybe he'll like the foxgloves...
