Ahoy there!
Last weekend M and I took advantage of the sunny weather and walked from Heswall to Thurstaston. This weekend it was similarly sunny so we drove to Heswall again, and had lunch at Yøt again, but then walked the other way along the coast to Parkgate and back.
This is the stretch of the Dee estuary which has silted up over the years and where it looks almost possible to walk right across to the hills of North Wales from The Wirral (although, if you’re thinking of trying it, it isn’t!) and it’s left a sort of ‘boat graveyard’ on the beach at Heswall where all manner of sailing vessels - including some wooden ones that look pretty old - have been abandoned to decay over the years because the water no longer reaches them. Ideal for an impromptu photo session! See the Extras too.
