Lucky Ducky

We went to the Accidental Zoo this morning as we are planning to plant a special tree there and wanted to check the space. We stood by the duck pond and could hear the faint cheeping but could not see any mothers or ducklings around. Then we noticed the electric pipe had lost its cap and the little duckling was inside the pipe and an arms length down.
Thankfully our son has small enough arms and long fingers and just managed to capture it. Had we not gone there it would not have survived very long, so it was lucky.
No sign of any others, so it’s a mystery where it came from. It’s now being cared for with another duck and her brood. Thankfully ducks are happy to accept extras.
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. The sun has arrived here which is very welcome :)
