Strelitzia

Its common name is Bird of Paradise Flower.
This is probably Strelitzia reginae. Comes from South Africa. Reminds me of blips by Crispin and of a holiday walking the levadas in Madeira.

I did not know until today that the genus was named (by Joeph Banks) in honour of the Queen Consort of George III.

Just two blippers were able yesterday to put a name to the cartoon character drawn on my iPad by my grandson. Well done Kwchas and Flavia. He was Ned Flanders, from the famous tv cartoon series The Simpsons.
