Somewhere out there

Today the nest was empty.. I miss them already but somewhere out there are 7  baby blue tits who I really look forward to seeing again at the feeders next winter.  While we were sitting outside having a drink this evening the parents came to the bird feeder.. one sat on the top gave a little chitter and flew off with the other who had landed in rose bush a few feet away.. I will put out some of their favourite fruit nut balls tomorrow to see if they come back to stock up.  
It has been a glorious summers day.. not too hot (in the shade) and we had a lovely lunch out with family.  It is so wonderful to be able to have time with family old and young all together.. I have missed that.
