We’re a couple of swells

An early morning walk round the Queens Park pond before going to church this morning.

Although the female swan sat on a nest for many weeks there were no cygnets this year.  Last year, if I remember correctly, they had five or six little ones.

There is wee family of coots nesting under a metal sculpture in the centre of the pond. Sis saw four chicks yesterday but I only saw three today. The nest is very untidy so I suppose number four could be round the other side or even snuggled under mum’s wing.
