Shoreham
Becky and Mike arrived to pick me up at 8.45am and we drove to Shoreham airport to have breakfast in the Hummingbird Cafe. It's in a wonderful art deco style building. The weather was lovely so we sat outside where we had a view of lots of little planes taking off and landing.
Then we drove to Shoreham and looked at the Fort and walked along the seafront. Then we drove to Worthing to have another wander.
Then back to Becky and Mike's. Becky had ordered a special delivery for us....... Devon cream scones. So we sat outside to eat them while Mike went off to do some food shopping.
Mike made some pasta and we had spaghetti bolognese for tea with Mike's home made bread.
Mike walked with me back to the Premier Inn this evening.
Today was the day Neil took part in his challenge. 60 runners started at 9am this morning. They had one hour to run a 4 mile loop. Then at 10 am they set off again. And every hour until only one runner remains. So we followed Neil's progress online as the day went on. He managed to do 14 laps before he had to quit. He came 18th with 15 runners still going. As he finished after 9pm and the organisers weren't allowing cars to leave after 9pm so as not to disturb local residents Neil and Rachael will have to stay on site until 9am in the morning. They have a tent where they can spend the night.
