concentrating the flavour of button mushrooms

I have two recipes to do tomorrow, one including Portobello mushrooms which have a lot of flavour. Button mushrooms don't have much flavour and the recipe doesn't require it. However I have sliced, salted, slightly oiled and baked them to see if it makes a difference to the final recipe.
