In the Court of the Crimson Queen (and King)
It is Open Gardens in our town this weekend and the weather couldn’t be better. We are very lucky to live in such a pretty Georgian town and be able to peek into the gardens. It satisfies both my innate curiosity and love of gardens.
Many houses on both sides of the road on Bridge Street have huge gardens, one side running down to the river, the other side backing onto the cricket ground. One house had a fruit cage the size of our garden!
We picked up lots of ideas and inspiration, as not all were huge gardens, in fact some were tiny cottage courtyard gardens.
This is a sneak peek over the wall into the garden of our local “ celebrity “. The blip title might give you a clue. She owns at least two with river frontage, 100 yds in length. This looks like a very fancy greenhouse!!
I had to date never seen her or her husband around town but we went into a bar for a drink this afternoon and there they were!!! It’s a mystery!!
