playing with fire...

...on an overcast day

that brought with it - sprinkles of rain - spitting snow - and colder temperatures than we had of the 60's yesterday - brrrrr....

so it was only meant to be - that i'd be playing with fire - to get, and remain warm, right? the adage always was, or is - that it's boys who like to play with fire - but i find i enjoy playing around with it, too and boo! i'm not a boy... i'm intrigued with the colors produced by fire - the way flames shoot up - how embers glow - how much warmth is generated by just a little bit of fire - it's all fascinating to me... i obviously don't like the ill effects of fire - the danger which it presents to the population, to wildlife and nature - but all the good - bring it on...

when i moved into my new house - it was not on my must have list to have a fireplace - yet it came with one... so i have been enjoying it on cold winter days - i found myself entranced by the flames this afternoon - bringing my camera to play and see what would result... just as i pressed the shutter button, embers split causing flames to lick upwards - i managed to catch the changing colors - finding the combination of deep blue and yellow a mesmerizing one - bringing me pleasure and making for...
