all dressed up and no place to go

The black and white markings of a magpie, and its extremely long tail, bring to mind the formal attire of tux and tails. And when a magpie takes flight, you can see that it is wearing white gloves as well. A very handsome bird indeed!
But alas, this bird seems to have nothing very fancy to attend to at the moment.
And many of us were caught wearing the wrong outfit today. The forecast was for partly cloudy with high temps in the 50s. What we got as the day progressed was 28 degrees F, with freezing fog! Tomorrow the forecast is for sunshine and highs in the 60s!!
