Flame of the Forest

It rained for much of the morning so the midges had a wonderful afternoon in the warm, damp atmosphere. It was a good day for indoor jobs.
In the evening, I had a novel experience, along with friend J, when we did a couple of hours babysitting for friends P and A who have family staying. The adults went out for a meal while we looked after the two children, aged 4 and 6. Neither J nor I have any offspring and we are not experienced with children this young. However, all turned out well as both children were quite delightful and we had no arguments when it was bed time.
When walking back home, I stopped to take a photograph of the Pieris, Flame of the Forest, which is looking very attractive with much more fresh red growth than is usual.
