¡Cuidados: Llamas!

Although our flat is on the small side of smallish and has barely three rooms including the bathroom there are a considerable number of tasks still outstanding or never-quite-completed despite our having lived here uninterrupted for eight and one-third years next week. One such thing is the completion of painting of the various bits of woodwork which have been in a state of incomplete-sanded-down-ness for several years after the initial re-paint when we moved in to get rid of the nasty grey colour the previous owners evidently felt to be the right shade to offset the yellow walls. This little horse-shape paint-scrape has been there for years and probably won't disappear anytime this side of summer but will eventually go and so deserves to be remembered. For reasons of taste, discretion an not having a very good camera I didn't really record the flat in the state it was in and in which we found it when we first moved in and things like the yellow walls will (hopefully) eventually fade from memory with no record of their having ever been except when the removal of something else accidentally reveals a little trace of them.

I didn't get a vast amount done today but did at least get round to finishing off season 5 of The Wire and will now be free and able to go back outside again on days off without the just-one-more-episode problem. I shall avoid downloading any other telly for a while even they come heavily recommended and look in danger of becoming cultural reference-points and just stick to those few that I'm watching as they're aired rather than waiting until whole seasons or entire runs are available to be watched back-to-back, though watching things in a big lump is generally more satisfying although it does mean that when someone has some unnecessary facial surgery it becomes much more noticeable than it would have been if there's been the gap of a year between series.

I shall go outside more tomorrow. In a way it's good to be free of the feeling that I must take as many pictures as possible to ensure I have a good selection available but the other extreme (taking two shots, one of which is above) increases the risk of one day forgetting to take any pictures at all. As well as going outside I've still got my holiday-gap to fill but getting outside on days off during office hours is always worth it.
