Peony

It’s that one day of the year where I have a public holiday, BB has school and TT has work.  I did try to persuade TT to take the day off, but he chose to work.  It was a lovely day and I was feeling fine, so I risked a run in the sun.  Five hot miles later I made it home.  I did a few chores, then headed out for some shopping and for a takeaway lunch.   TT and I enjoyed lunch in the sunshine.  I then enjoyed more sunshine and read my book in the garden until my next load of washing was ready to be hung out.  I also potted up a few plants which we had purchased yesterday.  We need some more, but it’s a start.
Late afternoon I could feel my legs seizing up a wee bit, so went for a walk to stretch them off before making tea.
BB came home from school complaining of a sore toe – he did in fact have a horrid blister.  He said it was from football yesterday, but on closer inspection of his rugby boots, it may be from rugby on Saturday, exacerbated by football yesterday.  I think new rugby boots are on the shopping list now.  Anyway he couldn’t play football, so missed tonight’s training.
Later I baked a rhubarb cake, and finished The Pact.  I didn’t do anything special with my day off, but it was nice to spend the day in the sun.
Our peonies are usually out in time for BB’s birthday.  They weren’t this year, but have started to burst into bloom  in the past day or so with the better weather.
