Hobbema

Just a typical scene in this part of Flanders. It reminds me of 'The Avenue of Middelharnis' by Meindert Hobbema. You can see the church spire of Haasdonk if you look closely!

I remember seeing it in the National Galery, London, many years ago.

The actual village of Middelharnis  is not very far from where I live across the border in Zeeland. I shall make the effort one day.

Didn't do much today. Lazed around the garden listening to the cricket. How else to enjoy a summer's day? Thunderstorms are rolling in and our brief spell of sunshine may be coming to a close.
