Bus Pass Walk
A glorious sunny day for our bus pass walk. 2 of us caught 2 buses to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saltaire, and another 5 arrived by car. We had changed our minds on a previous idea for a walk as it was forecast to be hot, and we thought this walk would have more shade. A lovely walk along the canal, and then returning via the river. Apart from a mass of Canada Geese and their goslings there were no birds to be seen today - must have been too warm for them! A lovely walk arriving back in Roberts Park where unfortunately the cafe was takeaway only, so we walked to a cafe one of the walkers likes and that was closed. Never mind - onwards to Salts Mill and lovely refreshments in the cafe there - Eggs Benedict for several of us - yum! We then parted company and P & I caught the bus back to Bingley. Typically as we got near to the stop for the next bus we saw our connecting bus sail through the traffic lights. It was still at the stop, but as our bus approached it set off so we missed it by seconds! Half an our until the next bus, but we sat and chatted so not a problem. Rest of day spent trying to post yesterday’s blip, which made for a very frustrating afternoon, but managed in the end!
