Crowded Marina

I enjoyed a few minutes of photography at an unusually crowded maria in Little River, SC on my way home from a haircut today.  Boat from up and down the East coast are seen here, and I suspect Memorial Day weekend brought more than usual.  The extra is taken though a fence open only to boat owners.  I did learn from the dock master that fuel costs are usually estimated by the hour (not miles as in our cars) and the expectation for many of the boats is a gallon of diesel fuel per mile per hour.  I would hate to pay for a boat at 20 miles per hour and therefore 20 gallons of diesel fuel for an hour of cruising at the price of that fuel in today's market.  I told him I remember when yacht prices were $100 per foot, and he said yacht is often $10,000 a foot today.  Two yachts at 65 feet in length were sitting across from us as we were discussing prices.  He said one of them held 1,800 gallons of fuel.
