I was fortunate to see two of the blue tit fledglings leave the nest this morning.  It is amazing how quickly they were able to fly several metres and then settle among some shrubs.  Later one managed to get onto a wall but had not mastered how to fly to the top of the fence despite the parent encouraging it.  Next door’s cat has been very interested in watching the birds flying into the nest box so hopefully she was not around and they survive to adulthood.
