Totnes

After the obligatory Premier Inn breakfast, we headed off to Totnes to have a look at the Motte and Bailey Castle. We had the place to ourselves which was fab.

We then wandered the High Street, stopped in a square for a drink at a pub, in the sun. We had spotted a Gelato shop on our walk so we headed back there. They had gelato, I had coffee.

After chatting to the staff at the castle we followed their suggestion and headed to Berry Pomery Castle, built by Jane Seymour's brother, but never completed and now in ruins. Carys was interested enough to buy the guidebook.

We had a good wander round and then wandered along part of the trail below the castle and back again.

Back in Exeter we grabbed takeaway pizza and collapsed back in the hotel to eat it.

Supposed to rain tomorrow, which might put a damper on things, quite literally.
