MM: Knot
After thinking about how to fulfill the theme as I looked through the list of words containing silent letters, I thought of something I had seen on the fence leading into the desert at the end of my street. It was a KNOT tied on the fence. I got out early enough that it wasn't very hot to get the photo. I tried a lot of different ways to present it but when I stumbled upon this I liked it. Kind of gives it an old west kind of feel.
Didn't do much of anything today except some highly needed chores around the house - emptying, folding, loading, covering, wiping, washing - all of those "-ing" things. I did order some groceries online for pickup tonight, at a time when the temperature should be decent. After thinking about what I wrote yesterday, I've decided that late night shopping should be the way to go this summer, especially since I shop in the next town over.
It's been horrifying to read about and watch television documentaries commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Massacre (article from the History Channel). I only learned about it a couple of years ago, which is also a horrifying thought. It's been virtually white-washed for scores of years. We must confront our history, not deny or change it to assuage our guilt.
Before and after photos.
