What lies beneath

I was sorting yet more of my earrings out today. This time checking pairs that go straight through the ear with a back fastening. I wear these less often as they tend to irritate my ears more so am never sure what pairs I have. This is one of my moonstone ones sitting on the upturned top of a little Rennie Mackintosh trinket box.
I like my moonstone earrings but at the moment my ears are already stinging from wearing dodgy hook throughs.
