#tweetpr - a Twitter success story

At time of writing, #tweetpr (a Twitter hashtag chat) has been running for six hours, and at one point was trending in Glasgow. Organised by one of my former students Kenny Murray, and supported by the CIPR in Scotland and others, the premise was quite simple - bring together PR professionals and PR students and have the former tweet advice to the latter, proactively, and reacting to questions and comments.

It's been fantastic to see, with most of my students tweeting and interacting and gaining loads from it, with sage words and advice from the three in the pic, Ronn Torossian from 5WPR in New York and excellent Scottish PR experts Christina Cran and Mike Ritchie, and many others to many to mention.

Kenny, or @kenny_murray, is in Honours at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and, as top of Behind the Spin's social student ranking, is a future PR star. He's putting together a Storify of it all later. #tweetpr started small and grew and is still going. Well done to all involved.
