Im F-ing In and You're F-ing Out

Sorry, not trying to vulgar, but if you watch the show East Bound and Down you get the reference.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to compress images in i-photo, because I can't even adjust this photo the slightest without the MB jumping from 2.7 to 4.2, its ridiculous. I like this photo, and I want it to look good, not like I took it with a wind up disposable camera.
