Day 3 of summer. It's been really hot today as I've spent most of the day gardening.

With football on the tv tonight, I took myself off to the meadows.
I found a new way into the field avoiding the mire.

Creeping along the hedge line, I spotted this stag quietly grazing. He eventually settled down in the grass which gave me a chance to get closer.
I was so intent of keeping out of his view I failed to see a pair of hares who soon scarpered.
This alerted the deer who soon spotted me.
I took a dozen or so images before he shot off into the woods, barking out a loud warning as he went.
I must have really upset him because I could hear him calling for about 5 minutes
