North Queensferry

Removal of most lockdown restrictions means I can run a Spokes Ride. I decide to go to Aberdour for a picnic. There are showers forecast, but hopefully they won't be too heavy. It is a wee bit cool though. We follow NCN route 1 out of Edinburgh to South Queensferry, across the bridge, where the blip was taken of North Queensferry, to Inverkeithing. From here , we follow NCN 76 eastwards to Aberdour. We have a picnic lunch at Silversands Beach.

We head home just after 1:30. Immediately we are hit by a hail storm of the light polystyrene bead variety. Not pleasant though. It is a very cold ride back to Inverkeithing. At least from Inverkeithing we do not encounter any showers as they are ahead of us. I  get home dry, and in time for some afternoon coffee.

The whole route can be seen a Relive here.

A nice relaxing evening. It is a public holiday tomorrow.
