A Breakfast of Polyanthus
Just after 0630 hours this morning, I was making coffee in the kitchen, when I saw movement outside. Looking out I saw this Reeves Muntjac step carefully through our fence, walk down to the bird feeders, along the path, down the steps onto the lawn and then proceed to eat the yellow Polyanthus flowers alongside the path. Having eaten most of the yellow flowers, it tried the heads of the red ones and spat them out in disgust. By this time I was hammering furiously on the window to get it to go away; it totally ignored me. Yelling also had no effect, but in the end I came up with the idea of barking like a dog, it then looked very nervous and trotted away to the other side of the garden; we still have an odd yellow flower left and some beheaded red ones. Mrs GOG said I should have made more effort to dissuade it from eating the flowers.
