This rabbit is enjoying a weed from my wildflower garden. It looks like Lapsana communis, commonly known as nipplewort. The plant is edible, and here are recipes if you want to try it out. 

I try to share with the critters, however, one of my dahlia's leaves and buds has been stripped clean. So I have resorted to netting to allow the plant to grow normally.


I was reading that large ears are crucial for a rabbit's thermoregulation of body heat as well as to hear predators. And rabbits that live in hot climates generally have the largest ears.
