Monarch’s Way

So today I met B in Wooten Wawen. We set off towards the canal and then crossed over bridge 51 and continued onto the Monarch’s Way. It is a very winding route and previously we have had to abandon going too far as the path was flooded. Today, although quite wet it was passable. We came to a place where a large tree had fallen and blocked the path so we climbed over that and continued onwards. Then it became quite spooky as we could hear cries coming from the woodland. We were really in the sticks and it seemed far from anywhere. We realised after a while that it was a couple of foxes. A dog fox and vixen calling to each other. Anyway we explored new territory for us and the dogs had a great time.
