Police on Ice
The doorbell rang about 9am and I was wondering which of my kids had given up trying to get to school waiting for delayed trams and returned home instead. Two of them had already texted me that they were stranded at stops somewhere along the line.
But it wasn't any of my brood; rather an exasperated young woman wanting to know if the white car parked out front belonged to me. Thankfully my car was in my driveway for a change, rather than on the street. Apparently she had been cut off at the corner by a driver failing to yield the right of way, and when she hit her brakes, she slid off the road and crashed into the parked vehicle.
I don't know who's Hyundai she hit, but after she rang at several neighbors, she called the police and reported the accident. Poor thing. Nice that she didn't just drive off - of course the consequences had she been caught would have been far worse. I hope her day improves quickly. Just knowing it wasn't my car - and that and all my kids eventually made it to school - makes my day much better already :)
Stay safe and warm!
