Translucent hibiscus petals

I had a few options today's blip, but I liked these lilac hibiscus flowers, with their translucent petals on a hardy plant that we have growing outdoors. Many of the flowers are over now, although there are still buds coming. The wind was the biggest challenge today.

I have been working on tree bark, especially our young cork oak, but am having difficulty capturing the texture of its very indented bark. Other interesting tree bark in our garden includes Eucalyptus and Casuarina, but the trees are all young, so their bark is still developing. Possums (undesirable Australian immigrants to New Zealand) have made unwanted scratch marks on some of them. Hopefully I'll get a successful bark image or two one day soon.
