Samba night

We were invited to Cova da Moura for a birthday street party, the birthday of the street artist we are working with for the Street Art Science project. It was amazing!

We saw traditional dancing from Capo Verde (Funana) and Afro house music from Caribbean style sound systems with incredible samba drumming over the top. We drank a fair amount of capucha, the homemade sugar cane based alcohol which was definitely necessary to get my English hips moving at all with all the African dancing going on!!
