A question of preference

My youngest daughter wanted me to paint this view, originally I took a photo with a family group in the foreground, I wanted to include them, she didn't, here is my version as an additional image with the figures copied from the original photo onto the painting..which do you prefer?
incidentally the image with the figures is much closer to the colours of the painting
