Morning surprise
Still feeling rather woozy but decided to take a stroll through Hull Road Park. On entering from the Tang Hall Lane gateway I spotted something white and long knecked pecking away in the beck. Clearly not a swan, what could it be. Took a couple of very blurred distance shots and the bird flew up into a tree as I approached. and I was able to get a good shot of it by using my low power zoom. When it flew off it had the lines and flight posture of a heron. It turns out it was an Great White Egret! I spoke to another dog walker and he had seen two of them half an hour or so earlier. I've never seen one close up before and on here you can even see it's leg tags. Amazing to see in a city park!!
