Poorly boy
Today was not a good day :( Last night Noah was unsettled going to bed and woke a few times which is unusual. I crept into bed at 10 and he was tossing and turning a fair bit, and then at 11 he thrashed a bit more so I decided to pick him up and give him a cuddle and some boob. I'm SO glad I trusted my instinct to pick him up, he was absolutely boiling. I poked Oli and he went to get the thermometer and calpol, while I stripped the boy and checked him over. Although he's in the sidecar cot I brought him in with us so that I could ease my paranoia about his temperature. Horrible night :( he kept waking screaming. I'm so grateful to still be breastfeeding because I was able to give him so much comfort. He hasn't woken for night feeds in so long, he usually wakes only once and so waking at least 6 times was a shock to the system but each time he woke I was able to give him milk. Poor mite must have been so thirsty with his temperature. I slept without a duvet so that I could make sure he wouldn't overheat (the things we do for our childerbeasts!) and Oli practically hung off the edge of the bed to make room for the boy and his spread eagled arms.
He woke at 8 and Oli was on the late shift so we were able to spend some time as a little family before Oli left and I was left to the chaos that is a poorly baby. Luckily my mother popped over to help while I had a cuppa and then at nap time Noah wouldn't settle, so I went with him to bed for 1.5hrs. Did us both some good. My mother came back over to help us after her sewing class and so we decided to kick cabin fever to the curb and wrap the boy up warm and venture out into the absolute freezing weather to get him some fresh air and for us to blow the cobwebs away.
Thankfully he did sleep a good while and when we got home I offered him his favourite - a yoghurt. He did eat some of it and then sucked the philly from my bagel but other than that he didn't really want to eat anything. Poor boy. He slept some more, cried a fair bit, did not want to be put down and wailed some more. Thankfully he managed a few smiles for daddy this evening and went to bed ok.
It's horrible seeing him poorly. Horrible. Hope he has an easy night and is feeling much better tomorrow x
