Opal

A gift from a retired police detective who’d written a book about a recluse who lived in outback South Australia for 50 years. The opal arrived in the mail at my former workplace as a thank you and, not knowing the value (if anything), I got to keep it. It’s the size of the nail on your little finger.

Unfortunately, for today’s challenge, opals are mineraloids rather than minerals.

Thanks for hosting freespiral.
