Papaver Sans Petals
I enjoy the stages of a poppy's bloom from its rough, hairy bud to its bald seed head with its own cap.
In this capture, the papery petals have dropped and the stamens resemble the lacy purple collar of a noble. Two extras show the bud cracking to reveal the flower inside and a close-up of the poppy in full flower.
